Inner Child Therapy
Saturday/Sunday 3rd/4th July 2010 (TBC)
Inner Child Therapy Workshop - Costa Lambrias DHyp, FIHP, FASM, MABCH, MCAHyp, MHA (Reg Hyp)
Inner Child therapy is appropriate with clients who present symptoms that may originate in a childhood lacking in love or emotional support, such as:
- General lack of confidence.
- Insecurity.
- Low self-esteem.
- Emotional and relationship problems.
- Eating disorders.
and in certain cases:
- Depression.
- Weight.
- OCD.
- IBS.
- Stammering.
The Inner Child process is also the ideal gentle, healing and non-invasive way to prepare the client who has, or may have been abused for subsequent more direct or confrontational sessions if required (e.g. trauma runs, regression, reframes, soul retrievals). At the same time, the client may very well gain from their inner child more insight into what actually did happen.
In the Inner Child Workshop, Costa will teach you how to:
- Identify clients for whom this process would be suitable.
- Thoroughly prepare clients, by the use of specific analysis processes, for the actual Inner Child session – in Costa’s practice 96% of clients succeed in meeting their inner child.
- Guide them to the perfect safe and healing special place for their inner child to appear to them, probably at a time in their childhood they may not remember when they may have had questions and no answers, or just wanted some-one to take notice, hold, love, play or spend time with them, all of which the adult client is encouraged to do.
- Structure and record the session so that the client can continue to heal the childhood. Usually in the first “live” session the Inner Child is very young, closed and sad. As the client continues the process at home, the Inner Child tends to become older and happier which is usually the opposite to what most clients would have recalled of their childhood. This is because of all the healing that happens in each Inner Child Session – clients may meet a different aged inner child and be able to give that child what he or she needs at that time in their life. Given that we are the accumulation of all that has happened or not happened to us, imagine the knock-on effect to the present-day adult of being taken back to times in our childhood that require healing, and doing so!
- Show the client how to keep an Inner Child Diary.
- Monitor progress with the Inner Child Diary session
Since 1991, Costa has refined and used the Inner Child process on over 800 of his clients and says “It is consistently the single most powerful hypnotherapy session for clients….many are genuinely surprised at how real their inner child is and are very moved by the strength of the inner child’s emotional needs”.
